Anarad’s outer appearance changes from time to time on a cycle that is hard to discern, as she is constantly sidewinding through the time stream. When the cycle is reaching its end, she retreats to a private inn or a secluded cave on the periphery and starts to shed her garments one layer at a time. They are technically an extension of her skin, so this leaves her in a state of vulnerability. When all the layers are shed, her new skin glows a luminous light jade color for a time. Once these new layers of skin solidify, they take the form of sumptuous garments patterned like snakeskin.
It is said that she keeps these shed layers in the form of lustrous threads from which she makes her beaded timekeeping necklaces.
