Some people of the other clans can be heard referring to Anarad using the term snake woman to illustrate her untrustworthy nature… and to curse the onward march of time that the have no control over.
The members of the snake clan, however, use this as a term of respect, not only for Anarad, but for each other. They venerate the qualities of the snake as virtuous— especially their ability for self-renewal.
